Kalcium Fortified
Kalcium Fortified (Kelsey Strauch) is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist known for her biomorphic, whimsical "bone" paintings. She is also the founder of GalleryBQE, a public grassroots initiative that displays wheat-pasted art under the Brooklyn–Queens Expressway in Williamsburg.
Her visual work is shaped by movement arts—an accomplished juggler and circus artist who has appeared onstage at The Metropolitan Opera, including Philip Glass's 'Akhnaten'. With a BFA in Painting from the University of Oregon, Kalcium continues to blend performance, community, and public art; in 2025, she was awarded a Brooklyn Arts Council grant to curate a GalleryBQE group exhibition at Brooklyn Art Haus along with guided art tours beneath the highway. She loves hosting wheat-pasting nights, teaching handstands and all things David Lynch.
